SEAN C. ELMORE MEMORIAL FUND
SUPPORTING THE FUTURE OF BILLERICA
OUR MISSION
Since 1989, it has been our mission to help defray the ever-rising cost of a post-secondary education for sports-minded high school seniors living in Billerica. As of 2024, we are proud to have awarded nearly $600,000 to students.
The Sean C. Elmore Memorial Fund Inc. is a nonprofit organization with tax-exempt status under IRC section 501 (C)(3) recognized by the Internal Revenue Service.
WHO WE ARE
At the age of 30, Sean C. Elmore, a standout basketball player, passed away from complications brought on by Marfan syndrome. Family and friends best remember Sean for his larger-than-life personality and penchant for mischief.
In 1989, Steven Elmore, along with his parents John and Gerry, founded the Sean C. Elmore Memorial Fund in honor of their brother and son. Those early years included a three-on-three basketball fundraising tournament—eventually transitioning to an annual benefit fundraiser that ran for more than 30 years.
Today, Steven and the next generation of the Elmore family hosts an annual golf tournament to raise money for Billerica's students.
